The Ministry of Planning and Sustainable Development, in collaboration with the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America (AACCLA), is pleased to invite you to this ‘can’t miss event’, designed for senior executives and leading entrepreneurs of our region.

Presented as the opening day of the Americas Competitiveness Forum for the first time, the Forum for Partnership in the Americas will be held at the Hyatt Regency, Port of Spain, Trinidad, and center on the indispensable theme of ‘Tapping Imagination for Sustainable Business Innovation’.

Gabor George BurtGabor George Burt

Gabor George Burt is the global authority on re-imagining boundaries. A mastermind of innovation, creativity and strategy development, he is highly successful in enabling organizations to overstep perceived limitations and to carve out successful growth strategies. Gabor’s book Slingshot is the source and step-by-step framework for re-imagining self-imposed, mental limits.

As the foundation for Slingshot, Gabor was a leading practitioner of Blue Ocean Strategy, the new millennium’s most influential business strategy approach. He contributed case study material to the worldwide bestselling book of the same name. Gabor is named on a recent list of Top Visionaries, gave the opening presentation at the World Marketing Forum in 2013 and is both a speaker and event facilitator for the Forum for Partnership in the Americas. He hosted a nationally broadcast radio series in the U.S., writes articles for leading business publications, and is interviewed on major television, radio and newspaper networks.

Gabor holds a BA in psychology and economics from Amherst College as well as an MBA from INSEAD, France.

Daniel LevineDaniel Levine

Daniel Levine is one of the world’s best-known trends experts. He is regularly featured in newspapers and magazines and is often on television and radio including CNN, NBC and others. Mr. Levine is the Director of The Avant-Guide Institute and the Global Editor of the popular social trends website WikiTrend.org where he leads a large international team of trend spotters who chronicle the latest ideas, products and experiences from around the globe.

As a corporate consultant, Mr. Levine has worked with numerous companies seeking his trends expertise, from American Express, Intel and Deutsche Telekom to Samsonite, Carlsberg Breweries and Mandarin Oriental Hotels.

Relevantly, Daniel studied the history of the Caribbean at New York University, has worked with numerous Latin American destination marketing organizations (DMOs) from PromPeru to Fondo de Promoción Turistica (Colombia) and was the keynote presenter at the 2013 Caribbean Tourism Organization State of the Industry Conference.

Peter SagePeter Sage

Peter Sage is an extreme entrepreneur with over twenty years of experience growing fast-paced enterprises. During that time he launched, operated and brought to success over a dozen companies, in different industries. He served as the Chairman of the London YES Group (the largest personal development organization in Europe) and currently serves on the Entrepreneurship Advisory Board for INSEAD – a global top-five business school and one of the world leaders in the field of entrepreneurship education.

Speaker: Daniel Levine discusses how to use the power of trends to make your products and services irresistible.

Spotlighting remarkable cases studies on emerging trends that will significantly impact your business, Daniel Levine will demonstrate how any company can profit by smartly applying social trends for itself. Then, after learning how to track trends that are meaningful to your customers, he will help you frame your business from the perspective of your customers to reduce friction and expand relevance.

We will roll up our sleeves for a hands-on session in which you will learn to apply the Customer Experience Cycle (CEC). We will use the CEC to identify the weakest points of your customers’ experience with your offering, and then employ key social trends to address them as a way of making your products and services irresistible.

Speaker: Gabor George Burt discusses how to apply the Slingshot Framework to continuously re-imagine your business.

Gabor George Burt’s presentation will tie together key concepts from the earlier presentations and bring to life the core, practical steps that will guide the application of your imagination to drive the ongoing success of your company. You will learn to:

  • Identify consumer ‘Pain Points’ and turn them into ‘Points of Infatuation’, transforming the weakest points of your consumers’ experience into the strongest.
  • Stretch the definition of your business in order to discover new market spaces of expanded relevance and differentiation.
  • Embrace the Shortcut to Meaningful Innovation: Instead of outright invention, you simply unlock powerful combinations of existing components.

As the way to enable you to re-imagine the boundaries of your business, you will get to visually map its market space from the most narrow to the most broad definition. Using a process called the Accordion Chart, you will generate deep insights on how to expand the relevance and impact of your business.
